Issues: The canonness of Juno being black and nonbinary is technically debatable. If you scroll through The Penumbra PodcastвЂ™s social media, youвЂ™ll find story after story of both the fans and the writers realizing or processing something about themselves because of Juno and the other characters, and the fact that theyвЂ™re all part of such an enthralling and beautiful story makes it all the better. ItвЂ™s difficult to put into words just how great it is to have a character so representative to be the star of such an amazing story. ItвЂ™s so incredibly rare to see an lgbt+ character who is disabled, or a character of color with a mental illness, but Juno letвЂ™s people see that you can be all of that and it doesnвЂ™t invalidate who you are. Characters of all the categories Juno fits into are rare, but whatвЂ™s even rarer is a character as intersectional as he is.
